H1B transfer - working with old employer

I am working with company A and filed for a H1 transfer to company B in premium processing. I got Request For Evidence after a week. Now I have a question,

If I decide to continue to work with my old employer, Company A, irrespective of whether the transfer is accepted or denied, is it legal?

This is urgent, can you please clarify.

I was working for employer X on H1B currently valid till nov 2011. Got offer from employer Y and got H1B transfer approved. Now i decided to stay back in company X. Do i need to transfer my visa back to company X?

Or can i continue working with employer X without doing any formalities?

Somehow my company is saying i will have to transfer it back co company X and i am thinking there is a risk of rejecting transfer of H1B to company X.

This is very urgent can someone please answer?
