nimblerex
Hi, My parents‘ visitor visa is expiring on 4/8/23 but their I-94 (checked online) is expiring on 5/21/23. Can they stay until May or will they have to leave in April? They have Dropbox renewal appointment at end of May and we're planning to apply for their GC in the next few years. We just want to make sure they'll not have any issues with either the renewal or GC approval if they stay until their I-94 expiry date now. Please advise. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
The visa lets them enter. The I94 determines stay. they can stay till I94 expiry. Quote Link to comment
newacct
US visas are solely for entry. The visa's expiration date is just the last date you can use it to enter; it has nothing to do with how long you can stay in the US. They can stay until the date granted on their I-94. Quote Link to comment
JoeF
The visa is an entry document. It has to be valid when entering. The I-94 specifies how long they can stay. Quote Link to comment
