H4 Travel when H1B extension in process

I have a H4 visa and my spouse currently in US with H1B and he is planning for H1B extension. Can I travel when my spouse H1B extension is in process.

Yes. But you will need his latest H1 petition to come back. If you use the current petition because the extension is still pending, the I94 will be till that petition expiry and you will need an extension of your H4 status along with his extension.

yes you can travel. Just keep some things in mind:

1) If you renter back into US before your spouse's H1 extension is approved, most like your I94 will only reflect your spouse's old H1 date. So you will have to keep a close eye on it and timely apply for a H4 extension to avoid falling out of status,

2) If your spouse's H1 extension is approved while you are abroad, you will need a copy of the approved H1 extension to present to the POE officer so that your I94 date matches the H1 extension date.

Make sure your passport has enough validity to accommodate the H1b visa extension/I-94 date, otherwise get a new passport.
