Husband and Wife on H1B living in different states

Recommended Posts

Hi There,

Me and My wife both got married in January in the US and got a marriage certificate from county office.

My wife works in Michigan and I work in Dallas. We have decided to stay near our office locations till one of us gets job changed and moves to others location.

Now my wife is planning to go for her H1B stamping and given that we are legally married she will have mention my name and address on the DS-160 as spouse.

Given that her address will be from Michigan and my address will be from Dallas, will it create any red flags for her H1B stamping?

Is it common or has anyone face same situation. We want to be extra careful before she goes for stamping.

Please have the travel documents ready just in case as they might ask if you have travelled to your spouse in the last ~2yrs, this happened previously where they did not see each other in the last ~2yrs and had RFE, you can check in the same forum on historic updates. In your case, just be prepared to explain your situation and substantiate.

Hi, did you find a stamping date and if yes, which location ? I have been trying to find a date and not seeing anything in India or Mexico.
