kirankapoor_7
I am on GC for last 4 year and 2 months 1) To apply for citizenship how many days I have to be inside USA? In other words how soon I can apply before full 5 years? 2) Can I only apply for my father GC once I take oath after getting citizenship? Or I can start the process early in parallel to waiting for my citizenship? Quote Link to comment
newacct
1. You need to have "continuous residence" for the last 5 years (you can file 90 days before meeting the 5 years of continuous residence), and you need to have had "physical presence" in the US for half (2.5 years) out of the last 5 years. 2. Only after you take the oath. Quote Link to comment

pontevecchio
1. Look at page 22, M-476.pdf (uscis.gov) Once you have your Naturalization certificate or the US Passport, you are eligible to apply for immediate family. Quote Link to comment
kirankapoor_7
Thank you so much for the replies. When I file 90 days before 5 year, could I get citizenship in 3 months? Quote Link to comment

You can apply 90 days early, but you can only get citizenship when the 5 years are fulfilled. Edited January 20, 2021 by JoeF Quote Link to comment
