Interview waiver for h1b extension

I am planning to travel to India in a few months. My I-140 is approved. I also have I797A approval for an extension. My existing visa stamp would expire when I visit India. I Would like to know if I qualify for dropbox submission. Currently, when I schedule an appointment, the system requires me to visit the consulate for an interview.  I am not sure if this is due to consulates and dropbox services are currently suspended or maybe since this is another extension after 6 yrs of h1b use. I already checked link below and I did an assessment and found to be eligible around the time when I plan to be in India.

As per Trump Executive Order it is not at all possible to come back to USA with new H1B Stamping after June 24 2020. I am sorry I do not know if something changed.

That is incorrect interpretation as far as I know from my attorney firm. The question I asked was different though.

Dropbox eligibility has nothing to do with duration of H1b. I did my stamping via dropbox post 6 years in 2019 Dec. Most probably because of current situation you are not getting option for dropbox.

I too qualify for it but did not get that option while trying to schedule an appointment

I'm in the same boat (h1b extension (beyond 6 years) with valid i797 but expired stamp). What appointment date did you get and in which consulate?
