nileshdate Posted July 30, 2020 Report Posted July 30, 2020 I am planning to travel to India in a few months. My I-140 is approved. I also have I797A approval for an extension. My existing visa stamp would expire when I visit India. I Would like to know if I qualify for dropbox submission. Currently, when I schedule an appointment, the system requires me to visit the consulate for an interview. I am not sure if this is due to consulates and dropbox services are currently suspended or maybe since this is another extension after 6 yrs of h1b use. I already checked link below and I did an assessment and found to be eligible around the time when I plan to be in India. https://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-visarenew.asp Quote
gopalakrishnach Posted July 30, 2020 Report Posted July 30, 2020 (edited) As per Trump Executive Order it is not at all possible to come back to USA with new H1B Stamping after June 24 2020. I am sorry I do not know if something changed. Edited July 30, 2020 by gopalakrishnach Quote
nileshdate Posted August 2, 2020 Author Report Posted August 2, 2020 That is incorrect interpretation as far as I know from my attorney firm. The question I asked was different though. Quote
adshah84 Posted August 16, 2020 Report Posted August 16, 2020 Dropbox eligibility has nothing to do with duration of H1b. I did my stamping via dropbox post 6 years in 2019 Dec. Most probably because of current situation you are not getting option for dropbox. Quote
hmah Posted August 19, 2020 Report Posted August 19, 2020 I too qualify for it but did not get that option while trying to schedule an appointment Quote
quasi Posted August 20, 2020 Report Posted August 20, 2020 I'm in the same boat (h1b extension (beyond 6 years) with valid i797 but expired stamp). What appointment date did you get and in which consulate? Quote
