Which 797 to use for Visa renewal

Hi,

I’m a little confused with H4 Visa renewal, hope someone may have already faced this situation so please suggest.

When I was working with company X and my H1 is valid until 2020 and so is my wife H4, but I quit company X and joined company Y.

My H1 was transferred and I got new H1 valid until 2021. Company Y dint apply for H4 since it is valid until 2020.

Now we are visiting India and need to get visa as our old visa is expired. So my confusion with this H4 extension 797 is based on company X and has that petitioner info on it.

If I’m applying for visa renewal which 797 should I provide.

You need to provide Y I-797 information.

I guess in H4 DS 160 you given latest H1B petition number.
