bm152w
Hi, Is there anyone who recently attended H1B visa stamping with a job (software engineer) not related to field of study (Mechanical Engineering)? I am a FTE (Sr. Software Engineer) working for a large firm with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have one H1B transfer petition denied on Specialty Occupation basis due to insufficient documentation, but on re-application with proper experience letters and course evaluations it got approved. Will there be any impact on stamping having one denied petition in the past? Please share your thoughts/experiences if anyone on the same boat. Appreciate your help. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

My friend went recently and he did not have any issues. But his petition was never rejected. You just need to be ready to answer why did you shift fields when asked. Quote Link to comment
