H1b to H4 change of status

I want to apply for change my H1b to H4 status. Can i do it on my own or does that needs to be done by my spouse employer? What is the process if I need to do it on my own?

You can do it on your own. Processing time for COS is 9-11 months. Its better you go out of country and get your H4 stamped and apply for EAD if you can. Saves time.

Your spouse's employer can do it too on your behalf. If they are not doing it, you can do it yourself by filing i539 to USCIS.

You can do it on your own. Just check online. You would need a I-539 form along with supporting docs.
