ramanbv
Hello,I am on H1 visa, my daughter is in 10th grade in a Charter School in DE state. She came to US in June 2013 and started 8th grade. She will be finishing 12th Grade & graduating from High School in 2018.She is aspiring to join an US University/College. Want to know the following:1. Do we need to apply for F1/Student Visa for her?2. We had attended some meetings with school counselor, where we came to know, she can be eligible to only merit Academic scholarships & not for any grants (viz Govt...etc)3. When in College/University - can she be eligible to work as Intern (paid or volunteer) in Govt and UN related organizations?Thank you in advance for you response. Raman Link to comment

pontevecchio
She can stay in H4 status till 21. After that she needs a F1 status to study which can be in the form of a COS filing to F1 from H4. On F1 she may be allowed OPT which can be pre and or post completion. What is your status here besides H1? Is there an Immigration Petition filed for you.? Link to comment
