Change in signature on Indian passport after marriage..

Hi All,

I would like to know what is the exact process to change my signature on my passport. I will be applying for passport renewal soon at the Indian Consulate in NY wherein I will be providing an affidavit for change in surname after marriage (along with notarized copy of our marriage certificate). The passport application form does have to be signed, but it will be in my old signature (signature on current passport which is name & surname before marriage) . Also, the affidavit for change in appearance and signature is not specifically for a change in signature, it applies to change in appearance as well which does not apply to me. So how do I go about doing this ? 

 

Appreciate a response in this matter on the exact process.

Signatures do not have to actually match your name. If you still want to know, call your countries embassy and ask them.
