Why not converting the H1 to Premium Processing? Otherwise, once the 240 days are reached, you'd have to go abroad, and wait for the approval from there. Link to comment

Earlier normal processing time frame was 2-3 months and deadline of 240 days made sense as it gives you time even in case of an RFE. They should either allow to stay beyond 240 as its a delay from their end or extend 240 days to accommodate with current processing time frame. Link to comment

If USCIS cannot process their applications on time, it is not your fault. Also there are suggestions above that you have to go abroad after 240 days, that is incorrect.
