theredfisherman
Hi All,Our child(US Citizen), My wife and I (Both on H1-b) are currently in India. We are travelling back to the US next week via Turkish Airlines. They offer a free stopover and we are planning a seven night stop over in Turkey covering Cappadocia and Istanbul. In any of your experiences do such stop overs especially Turkey cause any issues at the port of entry? Any advice based on your experience would be very helpful. Thanks in advance. Thanks,Karthick Link to comment
pontevecchio
There have been reports of increased scrutiny after returning from Turkey. But based on your name and background, I suspect that you will have no trouble returning. They are looking for visits by potential recruits to terror and you would not be mistaken for any such person. I would advise you that Turkey is a wonderful country and well worth visiting. rksingh
There is extra scrutiny of travellers to/from Turkey because of all the turmoil in Syria and Iraq as it is the preferred gateway of many. However, if you are clean and have nothing to hide, you should enjoy your layover without any worries. Link to comment
rohang
No issues, but I will suggest to avoid Turkey, not because of entry in US. But for security reason. I hope you are reading news Link to comment
theredfisherman
Yeah. I'm cancelling my stop over plans due to the recent issues. Since my original post, I went for my stamping and was issued a 221-g pink slip with no documents requested. I am really hoping this stop over didn't trigger it :/ I work directly for my employer and have had multiple successful stampings in the past. Link to comment
