H4 Visa new application

Hi,

 

I am currently on H1b, I would like to know the current processing time for H4 dependent visa, is it required to have valid petition for all the dependent applications.

 

My employer submitted the required documents for H4 visa to attorney, I would like to know how many days approximately it will take to get the necessary documents to proceed with visa appointment from uscis.

It will be helpful for me to plan the travel for my wife and small kid accordingly.

All they need to get a H4 visa is to show Marriage AND YOUR VALID h1 STATUS to the relevant consulate after filling up the forms and getting an appointment.. Nothing called H4 petition.
