Green card approval and in-person interview

Guys - my I485 filed under EB3 with PD sept 2004 is current. Couple questions - 

1. Will there be an in-person interview required?

2. Is biometric required?  

 

Please help me understand the process. Thanks.

1. not necessary - some cases get an interview , some don't . there's no telling which way it will go.

2. biometrics are compulsory. you will get an appointment letter for it - within 3-4 weeks of your I-485 filing date.

1. Usually Not.

2. They will let you know if anything is needed . Make an INFOPASS Appointment and ask the Officer about the status of your AOS.

Regarding biometric - I had my finger printing completed while renewing EAD, maybe 2yrs back. Will I be required for second finger print? 

 

I have now been asked for RFE, needing EVL, medical examination. After I respond, could you please help understand the next steps or processes? Thanks.

The next step is receipt of the card. A few weeks or so.

1. During GC issuance should myself and my wife be physically present in US? 

2. Currently we both are in India due to my temporary assignment. We will complete medical examination in US and respond to RFE. Is there a way I can be present in India and get the GC? If so how?
