tharabharani Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 hello everyone, I went to US on H4 visa but due to family issues and got separated from my husband(though not divorced) and abruptly i had to come to India. Now I want to go back to US through F1 visa to concentrate on my career My parents are sponsoring for my education.I have applied DS-160 form and waiting to book a slot for visa My question is: -----Will there be any problem in approval of F1 visa? ------Is there any necessity to contact my husband(we haven't been in touch for 7 mnths)
jairichi Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 1. No, if you have all relevant documents. 2. No.
rahul412 Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 F1 is solely dependent on your qualifications. So no need to inform or contact your husband, but its better to inform vo about your relationship status if they ask during the interview.
Attorney_21 Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 1) An F-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, so you will always have to show proof of ties to your home country and an intent to return. I don't believe that your history will present any particular issues in this regard. You will need to disclose that you are still legally married, but you can explain your situation to the Consular officer (i.e. that you are separated from your spouse, have no contact with him, and will not be residing with him). You will need proof of finances sufficient to support yourself (i.e from your parents). 2) I don't see any need to contact your spouse.
pontevecchio Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 1. The F1 visa is usually a function of the credibility of your College/University and hence if you will be attending say the "college" in Newhaven there will be no problem. 2. Not because of this issue.
