H4 to F1 questions

Hello,

I am a student on H4 visa completed my 1st semester. I am planning to go to India in this summer. I have some questions with H4 to f1 transfer.

1) can I appear for F1 visa stamping first when I'm in India instead of H4? If so, if the F1 gets rejected can I apply for H4 within the same India trip?

Or

2) can I apply for H4 first, once approved, can I apply for F1? Wasn't sure what reason I have to give for applying two visa within the same India trip.

Please advise.

Apply for a F1 visa. If denied apply for a H4 visa and finish your studies.

You can go with first option. First F-1, if not then H-4. Second option does not make sense.
