Transit in USA without any valid visa

Hi,

 

I am currently on H1-B. But i am quitting my job this month, then travel to South America and go back to India in a month.

 

Most of my flights from Peru to India have a stop in USA. Is it ok if i enter USA (just stay in airport) without a tourist or a C visa?
