desidesmoines
Hi, my wife's birth certificate was made after she was born. So the issue date is different from date of birth. Can I still use this certificate for my wife's 485 filing? I mean is it fine if the issue date and birth date are not same and differed by 10 yrs? Thank You Link to comment
jairichi
No problem at all as long as it is issued by competent authority in your country. Link to comment
pontevecchio
It is also a good idea to get corroborative evidence such as affidavits by Family elders and send that along with the BC. Link to comment

desidesmoines
Ponte, one quick question. Do we need passport while filing 485? Reason why I am asking this question is I need to renew my passport and if that time my PD becomes current I don't want any RFE why filing 485. Link to comment
pontevecchio
You should keep copies of each passport page with you. The Instructions for AOS are very specific and clear. It should not matter that you are renewing your passport. Link to comment
