parag_bhagwat
Hello All,I am confused with the continuous residency requirement. I have a work schedule where i am travelling to india couple of months a year. Now i read the continous residency breaks if someone travels more than 6 months outside oif US.. is that 6 month period for the whole 5 year continuous residency duration or is it 6months in a year??I know the rule says you need to have 30 months out of 5 years in the US which i have completed. I will be eligible for citizenship in 2016 but have been travelling to India since June 2014 for work and family. Thanks, Link to comment
JoeF
It is not calendar-year based. The duration of the trip matters. A trip that takes longer than 6 months breaks the continuous residency requirement. Link to comment
pontevecchio
More than 6 months at a time or in one year. Link to comment
