H4 renewed and I-94 issue

HI

My current H4 is till May 28 2011

and I am having my new H4 from May 29 2011 to 28 May 2014

i had my India trip this month and came back on May 24, the officer gave my new I-94 only till this May 28.

DO I need to apply for my I-94 extension?? or my new H4 petition should take care of it...

I need the reply urgently...

The duration of the I94 is only based on the duration of the H1 petition you showed them on entry. H4 by itself is not a petition. Go to the CBP and get it corrected. On the other hand if you have an I94 valid from the 29th you have no problem. The problem was with the POE Officer.

I am assuming striver may have showed the old I797A. Either way, it could be corrected with the CBP as you said.

i am going to jfk cbp office tomorrow morning to get my I-94 corrected.

Let me know if anyone has any experiences.

What extra docuemnts/details i need to carry other than I797 petitions, travel details etc.
