fareast
I had 2 traffic violations. 1. Inspection expired. I paid at the court. I believe I paid some $90 or $100. 2. Camera speed ticket. $50 Both these were about 8 to 10 years ago. I have no records or proof. I went to the city court and there is no trace of these based on drivers license number and name. The driving record certificate has no mention of these as well. I went to the hearing officer and she had no records as well. Frankly I did not realize I had to disclose this in n400 form. I was speaking to a friend of mine who mentioned that it would be better to disclose. But since I have no proof of these, I do not know if disclosing this at the interview will do more harm than good. Let me know your recommendation. Thanks. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Unless traffic violations resulted in a fine of over 500 USD and/or were alcohol and or drug related you do not have to mention it. Please read the instructions for M-476 rather than asking a friend. If you were looking for legal guidance then give the firm of Murthy a call. Link to comment
txnetizen
I would recommend to be forthcoming with all the info you have regardless of whether or not you have proof/receipts. my experience has been positive...the officer took whatever I gave him ..I also gave the stuff that I forgot to mention in the application. Please realize You will be under oath at the interview..so whatever you say or not say may or may not come back at you later..better be safe than sorry ..my 2 cents :-) Link to comment
itsmeusa
Whether you disclose or choose not to disclose, this would not impact your naturalization application. Traffic violations like what you have mentioned are normal, If it's a criminal misdemeanor like DUI or reckless driving etc. then there is a cause to worry. Link to comment
