Entering US with extended I797 petition but with old visa stamping

Hello all,

Currently I hold a H1b visa stamping valid till sep 30. I have sent the h1 extension petition to uscis on aug 4th and came to india on aug 6th. I just heard from my attorney the petition was approved and it expires in 2017. 

 

My question is can I travel to US using the old visa and new I797. As I-94 has changed , will there be any issues at port of entry.

Yes, You can travel on the existing visa and the latest H1 approval.
