Green card and passport name mismatch

Hi

I recently changed my name on my Green card (and all other US documents including drivers license). My Indian passport is still under old name. Will I have problems going back to India or coming back? I talked to Border Security (I forget the precise name of the agency) who said as long as I have the official Name Change document, I should be fine getting back to USA. Is that right? How about going to another country or during the travel to India?

Any thoughts/experiences welcome

1. As an Indian Citizen you cannot be denied entry into India.

2. The Green Card alone is good enough to return. You should be OK.
