paarumom
My mother had her green card processing started in the family based category. She was sponsored by her mother who passed away while the case was still awaiting for the priority date to be current. When the priority date became current, she was called in for interview. But at consulate, she was told that the category has been changed since the sponsor passed away and hence the priority date is not current(She was moved as sponsored by her elder sis who is also a US citizen). So we cancelled the application. I am in US in H4 and we are trying to process her visitors visa in this event. However we are concerned as to whether the previous immigration filing would affect her chances of getting the visa. Could you please advise ? Link to comment
pontevecchio
It may be a little more difficult. Has she withdrawn her GC application? Can she enunciate the matter in brief specifics at the Interview? If she can and gets a sympathetic Officer she may get the visa. Link to comment
