F-1 Sevis Transfer

Hi,

 

I graduated with masters degree in 2012 and was working on OPT since then. I am planning to move ahead with my studies and pursue a PhD. 

 

My OPT is expiring in November-2014. So If I get an admit for spring which would start at around mid January, will I be out of status in the month of December ?

You need to give your DSO a call and soon. It may be possible to stay. In any case if the program is legit you should be able to leave and come back with the visa.

No you won't. At this time, apply for college and get approval documents from the university that you're applying into. And then transfer SEVIS only after OPT expires. If you transfer your SEVIS during OPT period, you'll lose your work period. The two months period would be your vacation time to prepare for PHD :)
