avtar
Hi I know this topic has been beaten to death but I got my green card few weeks ago. I have the opportunity to set up my own company in the same field. I am planning on leaving my sponsor. Will there be any issues? Link to comment
pontevecchio
Since nobody knows your specific situation and since each case is unique I would get a consultation with an Immigration Lawyer to cover your bases as a matter of abundant caution. Other than that it would be extrememly unlikely for them to cause problems down the line. Link to comment
avtar
Thanks for the reply. I am going to give a month's notice So basically by the time I leave the company, it would have been two months since I got the green card. Even after leaving, I will be consulting to help out with my projects. I potentially might apply for citizenship as the company I am setting up with my partners is in the US. Since it is in the same field and the job is very similar should it be an issue? I will talk to my attorney too about this Link to comment
