panguluri.sravanthi
Hi, My name is sravanthi, I am staying in virginia. I was married 3 years before in India. I came to U.S on dec 2013 on conditional IR1 visa. There are many disputes between me and my husband. He is a permanent resident here. So is there any process to apply divorce here? Is it is valid in India? I searched in online I came to know about "no-fault" divorce. Will it work? can anybody suggest me the process? thanks in advance.. Link to comment
pontevecchio
You should talk to a local Divorce Attorney. The process will be recognized in India. Be aware it does take time and hence a Lawyer should be able to guide you further. You can also GOOGLE Divorce in Virginia and you will have a lot of relevant information. Hopefully you have other family in this country to provide all forms of support. Best of luck. Link to comment
t75
You need a VA divorce also called family law attorney (not an immigration attorney). Call your local Bar association(Bar = lawyers) for referrals. Some attorneys give a free or low cost first appointment; speak with several to find one you are comfortable with. If you do not have a job, find one immediately since you will need to be able to support yourself. There are several legal forums with active family law discussions; look for freeadvice and expertlaw. Link to comment

t75
Call the local "Bar Association". They frequently have lists of attorneys who give free or low cost initial visits for case evaluation. Interview several. Ask friends and associates if they have recommendations. Word of mouth is the best referral. If you have no other choice, pick a large firm in your city/county and ask for their family law specialists. Link to comment

I live near ashburn Use a search engine like Google to search for "bar association" and your state (the Bar Association is an organization where all practicing lawyers need to be members), and the Bar Association's website has options to search for lawyers with particular specialties.
