vpcal1982 Posted February 24, 2014 Report Share Posted February 24, 2014 Hi Following is my visa status Prev working in the US on L1 from Jun2010 till March 2013 L1 expired June 2013 Came to US on stamped H4 in Aug 2013.H4 valid till Nov 2015. Applied for MS and got admit for colleges for Spring'2014 Got I-20 from selected college for course starting in March 2014 Husband has GC applied through his employer on his H1B (currently in PERM/Labor) (I am not listed as a dependent on the application since we got married after he applied for GC.) Q:Will my previous work in the US on L1 affect my H4-to-F1 COS? Q:What precautions/declarations should I do for H4-F1 conversion? Q:Is it better to continue the MS course on H4? University's international students dept. is ok with me continuing MS on H4 visa. Link to comment
pontevecchio Posted February 24, 2014 Report Share Posted February 24, 2014 I would suggest you apply for the COS to F1. If denied you remain in H4 status and can study in H4 status. Link to comment
