Company name different on I797, going to stamping

Hi,

 

      I am planning to go to stamping in Jan. I have my company name on my I797 as "X Inc" Where as my company name was "X LLC". Do I need to change the company name on my I797 before going to stamping? Can I take any letter from HR which can help me for my stamping? Please advice on this as I need to change my travel plans if I can not go to stamping.

Yes you need to change your I 797 to reflect the exact employer name. That is the primary document as far as Visa officers are concerned. No letter can substitue that. Better to do it before stamping to avoid 221 G or administrative processing.
