BLS lost my son's PIO packet that contains US passport

Friends - I sent my kids PIO application in Oct of this year to BLS. After a lot of phone calls they finally confirmed that the packet has been lost. It has my kid's US passport. We have booked India tickets for Dec 25th. There are just 8 business days from today until 25th.What are my options of obtaining a US passport within this time frame.

 

With the help of Google, I found the below site that brags about 24hr passport replacement with additional charges of course. Do you think it is reliable? Do you know if any of your friends/relatives had been in similar situation? Please help me out. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I assume the PIO Card has arrived since if not there is no urgency and your trip would possibly be cancelled . Look in the State Department site for expedited Passport and move accordingly. Do not use dalals.
