Labor rejected. Need advice on options

My PERM was rejected in Labour stage. My employer plans file an appeal. As I am completing 6 yrs they are planning to file for a 1 yr H1B extension based on the appeal. They have mentioned that they are also planning to start a new PERM process. Trying to figure out my options.

1) Is it possible for me to switch employer based on the 1 yr H1B extension based on Appeal

2) Can a new PERM process be started by the same employer while the case is under appeal?

Appreciate any advice. If you have been through similar situation any pointers as to what else I could look at would helpful.

1) Tricky, since new employer need to start PERM process immediately to be able to get 8th yr extension

Can you share the reason why the labor was rejected. The success of the appeal depends on the reason.
