Passport validity for at least six (6) months

Hi Everyone,

 

I want to get my H1B visa stamped but have a dilemma. My passport expires on 10/11/2016 and the end date of my H1B visa on Form I-797A is 09/01/2016.

 

As one of the requirements is to have the passport that is valid for at least six (6) months beyond the validity period of the Form I-797A, what should I do to minimize my risk. I dont think I can ask for my passport renewal just as yet.

 

Would appreciate if some advice is shed on this matter.

There is no issue here. Your visa would get a validity date till 09/01/2016
