H4/H1B issue- confused about my current status!

I was on valid H4 since, 2011.

I applied for H1B in April'2013 with x I-94 card

I went to India in April and came back on my H4 before my H1 was approved on y I -94 card

I got an H1B approval - I 797 with x I-94 card

I again went to India and came back in august on H4 on z I-94 card

It is October 4th today, I thought I am on H1b now since, oct 1st

But my I -797 is approved on x I-94 card while my current I-94 card is z

What is my status? Appreciate for the help!

Since you left the country while a COS was being processed you cannot profit from their mistake in giving you an I94 for the H1. You should talk to the company Lawyer or your own as soon as possible.
