pontevecchio
Any sponsor can file your H1 next April during your grace period or otherwise. Link to comment
jairichi
Check with your employer whether he/she would file a H1B next year. If yes, leave US after expiry of OPT extension validity and enter US on Oct 2014 after H1B approval Link to comment

Ask your employer's attorney about this. Link to comment
JoeF
I think you are eligible for cap_gap. Ask your employer's attorney about this. The OP could stay until October 1, 2014, if an H1 is filed and selected next year, but the OP could not work from OPT expiration until Oct. 1, because he would be in the grace period by April 1. That's correct. But it would be more effective if OP gets this information from his attorney. Link to comment
