Renewal from Cap Exempt to Cap based firm

I was earlier working for a cap exempt (not for profit / non profit) firm from whom I got my first h1b. Later after 2 months I bacame a student and am on a F1 Visa. I am now at the verge of completing studies and would like to work for a cap based ( for profit ) firm.

 

Will I be considered under a cap for this H1B. From what I have read when you renew H1B you dont come under a cap but i am not sure if  this is true on the renewal from Non Profit to profit

You are indeed subject to the cap. Get a job which is cap exempt now and find a Cap subject H1 sponsor to file next April.
