First time H1 stamping: Travel to the US

Hi,

 

I have an H1B stamped on my passport at New Delhi consulate (valid till Sept. 2015). I am planning to travel to the US in September.

 

I have the following questions before I travel:

 

1) When is the earliest that I can travel, if my petition start date is form Oct 1, 2013?

2) What documents do I need while traveling?

3) I have a client and employer letter that I used for the visa interview - Can I use the same for the port of entry or do I need new letters from employer?  

 

I have completed my MPH from US and completed one year OPT after that. I came back to India in March and petition got approved in April.

 

Can someone please help me with this.

1. Up to 10 days before the start. Do not make a mistake in counting.

2. VISA plus approved petition and documents you submitted to the Embassy for the visa only if asked.

3. Yes.

4. Will you be working for a ;Local Authority or government?
