Regarding eligibility to work

Hi ,

 

I am on L2 EAD and my visa got expired on MAy 2013 and so EAD,...Now my visa is under extension and my husbands L1 visa had a RFE and even i have to wait as i am a dependent. ...Now my question is, i have got a new job and am i authorized to work or not???? As my visa is under extn but no valid EAD , i just have a recipt of my L2 extn.

 

 

Please suggest  and treat it as important, as i need to confirm the job once i get an answer from you.

Visa is not a petition. Please.  It is up to the employer. If he agrees join them and get the EAD later.

But will it affect in future if i work without valid EAD now???? as payroll gets processed on my SSN???

Ideally they would ask to see work authorization. There is a slight grey area here about L2. See what they say. They may ask you to wait.
