Filed for H4 extension while H1b is pending

Hi,

 

Am currently on H4 and got offer from a company which eventually applied for my H1b FY2014(effective from 01-OCT).

My H4 visa is valid till 01-SEP-2013 and have applied for H4 extension (along with my husband's H1).

 

my question now is :

 

1)Appliying for H4 and H1 at a time will effect my H1 to get rejected?

2)Can i withdraw my H4 at any point of time?.

3) If i withdraw my H4 extension what would be my status from 01-SEP-2013 to 01-oct-2013?

Would it not be easier to leave in September and come back with the H1 visa up to 10 days before start? There are no guarantees that the H4 withdrawal will work in time.

My H1b got approved with COS on sep 12th which is valid till  AUG 2016 and my  h4 also got approved on OCT 15th.

 

what would be my status now? am i still eligible to work?
