H1b Visa stamping with existing visa still valid

Currently I have a valid visa until september, I got my new 797 approval till 2016 and I want to go to visa stamping this month or next month.

If for some reason the visa stamping doesn't go well, will my current visa be still valid and can I enter US?

It is impossible to say whether the first step in the Interview process would be CWOP of the existing visa.

Your existing Visa whould be revoked with immediate effect. Even if that does not happen and your new Visa interview did not go well, if you attempt to enter the country the CBP Officer will have an update on your control number. There may be people who got passed through this, but IMHO I would be prepared to make alternate plans in case the new interview is not in your favor for the time being.
