bullygirl
Greetings! Please can anyone help me with this predicament? My fiance is in India and plans to come to the US on an L1 visa. We were hoping it would all get done before the end of July but it is taking forever. So my question is: Can we get married in Hawaii? Me on H1-B (I-140 stage, Priority date Dec 2012) and he on a B1/B2 visa (India). He could visit for a month, we get married, then he flies back to India and applies for the L1. Is this doable? Acceptable? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Yes. But you have to do the ground work as regards the whole process in Hawaii. GOOGLE " Getting married in Hawaii" as this current box will not let me cut and paste and presumably bad web site design is acceptable if you claim to get the most hits of any World Immigration site. Attorney_11
There is no prohibition to an individual present in the United States in visitor classification from getting married in the United States. It is advisable to seek the counsel of a qualified competent immigration attorney to determine if there are other immigration consequences from the marriage depending on individual circumstances.
