mkj1 Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Father's Visa just rejected forth time. Reason - No strong ties to home country. Looking for specific advice in this case expecially if you came out of similar situation. Three questions asked. Didn't bother to see papers. 1. Why going? -> Travel and tourism (for a month) 2. What you do? -> Retired. 3. Daughter has green card? -> Yes (they already know) Same questions were asked last few times. It seems he is marked "red" in the system and Consular already made his mind. Situation => He has strong family ties with wife, other childrens and grand childrens in India. He is rich. Not interested in coming for more than a month. We have been applying once a year. I guess since nothing changed, visa is rejected. Options => 1. Apply at other consulate? 2. Change Reason to come? 3. Go visit some other country? 4. Escalate - Write letter to Consulate/Senate/President 5. Consult local attorneys - for ex. Murthy. Is there anything you can think of to get the visa? Thank you for taking time to read and response!!!
njb83 Posted July 2, 2013 Report Posted July 2, 2013 I am also in situation. My parents visa got rejected twice at mumbai consulate. How are you planning to apply at chennai consulate ? Your parents do not need language translator in visa interview ? I am also planning to apply from chennai. but very confused.
njb83 Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 I am also in same situation. Do you know whether it is possible to get the translator for parents at Chennai or other consulates ?Thanks.
rahul412 Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Situation => He has strong family ties with wife, other childrens and grand childrens in India. He is rich. Not interested in coming for more than a month. You and I know that he will be coming back, but VO has to get convince that your will come back. Their are two reasons 1. Your father is retired 2. Daughter is a GC holder. From these two reasons vo thought that your father is a potential immigrant. 1. Apply at other consulate? 2. Change Reason to come? 3. Go visit some other country? 4. Escalate - Write letter to Consulate/Senate/President 5. Consult local attorneys - for ex. Murthy. 1. All the consulates are one and same 2. You cannot lie during the interview 3. That doesn't make any difference 4. They won't respond to these kinds of email 5. That's the only option you have.
pontevecchio Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Write to your federal senator and forward a copy along with a cover note to the relevant Consulate General. There is always a reason.
mkj1 Posted July 5, 2013 Author Report Posted July 5, 2013 Thank you Rahul412 and pontevecchio. I'm composing letter, would like to post here for your feedback.
