avi_in_Us Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 Gurus,I just got the RFE, In RFE, they mentioned that ****, *************** is not an accredited institution and has not recieved accreditation in US. and hence an alien who has not recieved degree from an accredited United states college does not qualify as a member of the profession within the stature granting prefrence classification.**** is one of the most reputed institute in India and I recieved my diploma (A post graduate course, 2 year full time). Not sure what to do now. Please help if someone has undergone the same.I have 3 year B.Sc in Maths and 2 year PGD from IISc. My H1 is expiring next month.
pontevecchio Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 I am sorry. Please rephrase and tell us what your situation is and what your question is?
JoeF Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 Is this for EB2? with 3-year degrees, you usually can't do EB2.
cap-gap Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 first of all extend ur H1 for one year by PP ASAP...like today.... your case is clearly not qualified for Eb-2..but seems the RFE is only for iisc accredition.. accredition of iisc should not be an issue if ur case is eb-3
avi_in_Us Posted June 4, 2013 Author Report Posted June 4, 2013 Sorry for the miscommunication. My case is EB2 and got an RFE on I140. I have 3 year B.Sc + 2 year PGD. My education evaluation is Bachelors in CS from Trustf*** with edge analysis. Got an rfe on my institution (IISc) from which I recieved 2 year post graduate diploma. I have 12 years of experience. The USCIS is not recognizing my 2 year PGD since it's not from an accredited university. ******Commenst from RFE****** Indian Institute of Science is not an accredited institution and has not recieved accreditation in US. and hence an alien who has not recieved degree from an accredited United states college does not qualify as a member of the profession within the stature granting prefrence classification. **************** Thanks and Besr Regards Avi
avi_in_Us Posted June 13, 2013 Author Report Posted June 13, 2013 Gurus, Any help is highly appreciated.. Thanks, Av
chakrakr Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 You mean you are from ****, Bangalore ? I find it strange that USCIS does not recognize ****. It is considered at par with IITs sometimes. It is a Deemed University. I suggest consult another Attorney
chakrakr Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 I should have added -- the 3 year Bachelors + 2 years Masters still remains a problem for EB2 (3 + 3 works) . I am very surprised that CIS is raising questions on bonafides Indian Institute of Science !
