Hi,

Profile:

  • Dad - Retired
  • Mom - House wife
  • Elder brother - working in India
  • Myself: working on OPT - H1 got approved this April
  • Sent a I-134 - Support of Affidavit from my end

- Visa officer asked about my dad's business before retirement. Dad explained

- Asked about finances - Dad explained about FD's n all + plus said elder bro in India

- Mom was asked what she does - Mom answered housewife

- Asked what I was doing - Dad said working with XXX firm

- Was rejected with 214g

Thinking to apply after Oct or next Jan once my H1 starts. Could be a change in the application. But tensed about the second attempt

Also planning to apply in Chennai consulate. All my friends got it from there. Many of frds too got a reject from Mumbai consulate despite their dad's having good business/working

Kindly suggest

Firstly Consulates doesnt matter..Secondly you need to stay out of this and let your parents apply for themselves...you sponsoring them would make it more difficult for them.

So when are you getting graduated if they reapply for visa after Oct??

Changing the consulate doesn't help.
