EAD and full time work

I am on J1 VISA and my wife has got her EAD approved. Her company is stating some hesitation on full time employment with EAD. I wanted to know if EAD allows only certain kind of work and not full time? I do not find such references with respect to EAD. Of course, I understand that, going back on the word and not giving the job is entirely on company's discretion and it happens sometime in businesses, but stating that they can hire only H1B1 (She is Singaporean) and not on EAD seems bit confusing to me.

The EAD allows all kind of work, part time and full time.
