I 94 extension question due to expired passport

Below is the summary of my I 94:

Valid H1B visa stamping through my previous employer till Nov 2013

I 797 through current employer valid until Feb. 2014

Traveled to Dominican Republic and re entered US in Sep. 2012 (while working at current employer), but I 94 issued until June 2013, which is my passport expiry date.

Now that I have my new passport valid for the next 10 years, I am planning to travel to Mexico end of this month for couple days and re enter US to get a new I 94 until Feb. 2014. Please advice if you see any issues. I will carry both of my passports with me as the visa stamping is on the old passport.

Also can you please confirm that I do not need a visa to Mexico if I have a valid US visa.

Go to the Tijuana border and come back with a new I94.
