kumarsan Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Hi, I'm working for a well known US company. My current H1B visa expires in October. Earlier this year in January, I switched jobs and got a H1B transfer which now expires in Jan 2016. I would like to get my visa stamping done in Canada and I'm looking to travel sometime in Summer while the current visa stamp is valid. A few questions: 1) Am I allowed to get a stamping for transfer/renewed new visa? 2) If for some reason I'm denied renewal stamping, can I still get in US since my current visa is still valid? 3) Do I face any other risks? Thanks in advance!
shekar11# Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 1) Am I allowed to get a stamping for transfer/renewed new visa? Yes, you are allowed to get new stamping when you change employer. No issues. 2) If for some reason I'm denied renewal stamping, can I still get in US since my current visa is still valid? If the Visa Officer cancels your old visa then you cannot come back. If they dont then you can come back on current visa. 3) Do I face any other risks? As long as you have proper documentation you are good.
