Travel to india and come back before my current visa expires

Hi,

I am working for a software company. my H1 B visa extension got approved.

My current visa expires on 8th July 2013.I am planning to travel to India in the month of may and come back by June second week.

My question is DO i need to go to stamping? or Can I travel and come back to us and show my new petition -visa extension at the port of entry ? Please let me know.

You should be fine for your reentry with the existing visa stamp and the new petition I-797/employer letter.

Hi Thanks for the information.I had this doubt my friend told me to check in morthy forum ,,,,some times at the port of entry they may ask why I am comng back with out stamping etc....so inthat situation what should i do in that situation?Actually i have some personal work.... i need to drop my parents back in india...and come back...Please let me know your inputs...thanks in advance...

The reason that you are dropping back parents is not credible. You are not getting a new visa as that is your choice and that is USCIS protocol.
