Is there a problem with visitor visa having total stay of two trips more than 6months

Hello,

My mother has B1 visa with 1 year valid and multi-entries, and she had two trips using that visa, each is about 4months, so totally she has stayed in the US for about 8months. Would it be a problem for her when applying visitor visa for the next time ?

She likely has a B2 visa first of all; second, it really depends on what she told the VO about the proposed length of her visit. I doubt she said she would be spending 3/4 of the year in the US.

Perhaps since she spent so much time in the US when there was some question about her intentions as is obvious by a 1 year visa.

Not really. The fact that she obeyed the rules makes it exceedingly likely that she will get a 10 year visa.
