gcseeker547
Hello members, To start with my background.... I am in my 5th year of H1b period, which is valid till sep-2013. recently i have amended my H1b to the client i am working now and planning to file for extension next month(Approved 140. so hoping to get 3yrs) as i am eligible before 6months only. I have scheduled my visa appointment in CANADA in the month of may. My questions are so by the time i go for visa stamping i would be having an amendment petetion and and extended petetion. would there be any issues if i take my extension petetion and ask for stamping based on that, which is valid from SEP-2013. I read some posts in this forum about the people, who have done it in the past. but don't know exactly how to use the petetion numbers in the DS-160. do i use my original 797 or amended 797 or my extended 797. appreciate your valuable answers and thanks in advance. shekar11#
You can go with your extended petition. You need to fill in extended petition number in DS-160. But just to be 100% sure ask your lawyer once before deciding to go. Because in my case it was just extension, but in your case you have an amendment also. Link to comment
